These presentations shown below where designed to help display how I used integrated communication to develop and present a lesson in the areas of technology and science teaching. In order to develop each of these presentations I had to learn some keys technological skills that would help to display the learning effectively and to showcase my ability to integrate technology to communicate a skill in educating the young. There where many obstacles that I had to overcome just to learn what to do and how to do it. Making a YouTube video; learning to use Snag-it as a tool to create added information and videos; then learning to aid voice overs; creating a meaningful lesson that had interactive components and doing all of this without the daily use of students in a regular classroom setting. All of the lessons had to be based upon my visitations to various schools and the availability of technology tools for my use. In the process of learning these needed skills I learned several types of methodology models such as: Gagne's Nine Event Model, 5-E Model, SAMR/IPAC model, and more. All of these models helped me to develop lessons that had meaning and met the needs of the viewer while enhancing student use and understanding of how technology works to help them learn.
Integrated Communication is:
"Technology integration is the use of technology tools in general content areas in education in order to allow students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and problem-solving. ... Technology integration is defined as the use of technology to enhance and support the educational environment." as defined by Wikepedia

1. For this class (ETEC 562) an interactive YouTube video presentation had to be made and I did not know what was involved in making a video production. This was a very difficult process of developing a voiced video along with a lesson to be taught, because at this stage in my learning I had never had the occasion to make a YouTube video or any video that had a voice over. I had the issues of preparing a script to follow, using my Snag-it to my best advantage and tools in the Snag-it that I had never used before; such as making a recording of a PowerPoint and adding sound, changing the picture size and embedding a video in a video along with timing the video so that it would stay within the time frame we where given. All of these little aspects have to be considered when making a production. I stayed with the task until I got it accomplished, but found that with more practice I will be able to do a better job. I still don't like the sound of my voice on tape, but there is very little I can do about that. Even with uploading this video I had trouble with the embedding code and had to go in and correct it. That took me almost two and half hours to figure it out. But the one thing I have learned about technology is that you must persevere if you want to get things accomplished. I understand that in order to complete an integrated visual production all of the above parts must be mastered so that the end product is worth the viewers time. I also spent many hours reviewing others YouTube productions to help me see where I needed to make corrections in my own.
2. This was my very first attempt at creating a multi-media presentation created for ETEC 527 to upload to YouTube. I spent considerable time and days learning about using YouTube and the process of uploading a presentation. I felt I did not do very well, but I did learn a lot of vital information, techniques, and tools that I will be able to transfer to other activities that I am involved. I would love to make a series of videoes about gardening, entomology, tree care and identification, crocheting, and furniture building. These are outside activities that I am very passionate about and think as I learn more I will be able to explore these avenues of expression and interest.
3. This was my second YouTube video that was made for ETEC 562. I had learned so much by the time I did this presentation but I had to begin to incorporate sound into the presentation. That again was another learning curve. I struggled with timing and writing a script to follow in order to get the task done. Along the way I added more tools and skills to my bucket of knowledge and feel that I had definitely increased my metacognitive knowledge in an area where I had limited proficiency before. I still do not consider myself to be a technology wiz, but I know so much more than when I first began this journey.
4.-6. I created several Nearpod lessons which I really enjoyed and will be able to use them when I get the Chromebooks I'm seeking to add to my visiting teacher arsenal. This was my first time to use a Web 2.0 app to develop a teaching lesson that was not stored in my personal data base. It is shored in the data base of the app company. These lessons will help me to include technology into my lessons which will help the teacher whose class I am visiting to document that she continued to include technology teaching and understanding even in programs by invited guest to his/her class. Again, I had a new learning curve to conquer in order to learn how to use the many different tools and applications that I was being exposed to. The one aspect of this learning adventure was the friendly helpful relationships that developed between my teammates and I as we did the many different group projects we had to work on together.

7. This was my third YouTube video. I still was nervous about incorporating sound into a presentation so I didn't. But in all learning you must build upon prior knowledge and learn to do more. I did stretch out a little more and the presentation was longer and more involved. Still working towards the final presentation that is shown in artifact #1.

'9. How I learned one skill in particular that was important for me to understand and use clearly.
These are several things that I learned from completing an Integrated Communication documented presentation:
There are many facets that came with learning how to use the technology and one of them is the use of integrated communication; which is the use of multiple forms of technology interwoven into one presentation. In the class ETEC 562 we had to prepare a presentation using several different modes of communication in one document. I had so much trouble with learning and fulfilling all the facets of this assignment from preparing a PowerPoint presentation, was not difficult because I’ve done many of those, but speaking directions and recording a YouTube video was the bane of one of the many problems I had preparing for this task. My voice is not a very nice “radio voice” plus I had to prepare a written script so that I would not stumble as I was talking. It needed to be smooth and concise. I must have re-did the audio portion fifteen times before I got it where I felt okay about the presentation.
Another problem I had was that I felt I did not have enough picture in a picture type of pieces or a video inside a video to add to my presentation. I did use my Snag-it to help me in the presentation and I have been using that tools for years, but this venture had me to expand on how I even used it to accomplish the task. I’m still learning and to help me learn more I signed up to participate in SimplK-12 training where they offer many webinars to help teachers enhance their technological knowledge. They have been helpful and as of this publication I have completed more than 12 webinars and earned several certificates of completion. But practice is what is needed and since I am no longer in the classroom on a day-to-day basis it is difficult to incorporate what I am learning in the proper setting.
Attached is an example of integrated communication that I have done since starting the ETEC journey.

This is how I had to fix my embed code:
So in the meantime - what you need to do is to edit the embed code - starting at the "?" and remove the code from the playlist.
The fast alternative is to right-click on the desired video in the playlist video player and "Copy Embed Code"
Doing so will give you the single video embed code such as:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/X4jscVYF7BI?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
you can still further refine the embed code by removing the part:
?feature=player_detailpage
....... you don't really need to remove the "feature=....." since that is only a tracking mechanism and the embed code will work fine with it or without it.

I had to go in and change the embed code because it was wrong. Boy, that was an adventure!
